This is a little outside of our usual stories, but we simply couldn’t resist.
No matter which color you are planning on voting for this November, you cannot deny that taco’s are great. This is what has made Trump’s buddy, Marco Gutierrez, the brunt of all jokes for at least the next few months. His statement, warning everyone that if Trump was not elected as President, it would lead to “taco trucks on every corner” must be the funniest thing said this election.
Who doesn’t love tacos? Who wouldn’t mind a taco truck on every corner?
Well, we certainly wouldn’t. So in the spirit of tacos and building bridges, not walls, we would like to present the best taco trucks in America today.
- Leo’s Taco Truck
Let’s start with what is perhaps the home base of tacos, Los Angeles, California. If you want the most authentic taco without using your passport, then Leo’s Taco Truck is the place to go. Slow roasted pork, marinated with fresh pineapple juice? Sounds like a dream come true!
- Boka Tako
On the other side of the country, in Richmond, Virginia, you will find Boka Tako (which is a little cutesie spelling of Boca Taco, or Taco Mouth) These expert taco makers will thrill your taste buds with their chipotle cream, Habanero-lime vinaigrette, and something called Sambal Pork, which is pork meat marinated in a spicy type of Asian sauce.
- Tacos Don Memo
The City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is host to some of the best carne asada tacos on earth. The truck is a tiny one, but don’t let the size fool you, the flavor is out of this world. For a change of pace, try their Torta Cubanan.
- Chela’s
With a huge Hispanic population, it was hard picking out just one terrific taco truck, but when pressed for an answer, Chela’s had to be it. Be sure to order the carne asada with queso blanco with handmade corn tortillas. You’ll be back again and again for that one!
- Taceaux Loceaux
Local favorites from this New Orleans, Louisiana, truck include andouille sausage and shrimp tacos. If you think tacos with a little Cajun twist to them sounds good, don’t miss this truck! Don’t forget the handmade salsa!
It seems as though finding taco trucks on every corner, especially after 1a.m., sounds good to everyone. Except, perhaps, Marco Gutierrez. Guess he’s a hamburger kind of guy.
